Hi everyone,

Our flight is scheduled to land at 7pm at MCO, and we intend to rent a car where we can pick-up in the terminal (vs. those off-site). I'd like to make ADR's for Spoodles that first evening, but unsure of how much time to allow. We won't have to worry about customs, we'll clear that in Toronto.
Would we make a 9:00 p.m. reservation?

If you land on time, you should be able to make it. Last week we landed at around 11:00, got luggage, rented a car from National and were at BWV by 12:15-12:30.

The actual drive time from MCO to BWV is right about 30 minutes.

But for the whoe transaction, the big variables are time to get your luggage and how long a line there is at check-in. Expect baggage claim to take 30 minutes, and check-in to take about the same. Actually if you're arriving at 8:00 or so, I doubt you'll have much delay at check-in; but its better to plan for it.

BTW, we have found Hertz was quicker off site than using a agency located at the airport. Their shuttles are always waiting outside. When returning the car we do curbside check in then return the car.

When returning you can do airline resort check-in for your bags and boarding pass at BWV then just turn the car in. The airline resort check-in is at the left end of the check-in desk at BWV. You have to be using one of the participating airlines.

jackmac, would you happen to know if Air Canada is one? Probably not, because of customs...

ON the drive from MCO, are there tolls on the highway?

We took 417 to our hotel, just outside WDW, last trip, and I think the tolls were either $2 or $4, I can't remember, but it was one of these!

We also rented a car from Dollar, at the airport. The line was pretty long. If there's two adults traveling, I would suggest one stay at the luggage carousel and get the luggage while the other one (who is going to be driving the car) go down and start the rental process.

My suggestion would not to make an ADR for that night. Too many things can go wrong. If your plane arrives on time at 7:00 it should take about 1 hour to get your bags and your car then you could make it to BWV in about 30 minutes. Central Florida is known to have thunderstorms in the late afternoon/early evening so that would back up the airport. Sometimes the wait at the car rental counter can be a real pain. We've gotten through the line in as little as 10 minutes and sometimes it has taken almost one hour.

After having our flights delayed many times when we arrived in the early evening we now only take morning flights into MCO.

I would save Spoodles for another night and just eat at ESPN the night you arrive. :thumbsup2

If you take the south exit from the airport (the GreenWay or Rte 417) there are two $1 tolls. Get off at exit six and follow the road onto Disney property. Take your second right after going under the welcome arch and follow that road to a right turn just past the Hess station.

Thanks all! I think I will skip the ADR just in case we're delayed.
