Having been to DLR only once in 2005 I've forgotten how long we can allow for travel time from John Wayne Airport to HoJo's. Can someone give me an estimate?

Thanks

It takes about 15 minutes, and is is a little over 11 miles. This is why I love SNA (John Wayne Airport)--it is so quick and easy. We often land at 11:15, and have reservations for Carnation Cafe at noon. We are easily able to make it. We always take a van-cab (one of the cabs that just waits at the curb--ready to take people to Disneyland or hotels around it). This gives us enough time to check in first--leaving off our bags--and then go to the park for our lunch.

Last trip we had arranged for a service to pick us up and had thought about doing that this time, but is is just as easy to find shuttle without reservations?

Strange my post disapeared...it really depends on the time of day, how you are getting there!

It is 15 miles from terminal to DLR and can take anywhere from 20-45 min.

Yes, shuttles are easy peasy without a reservation, what takes longer is if you are the last drop off!!! Also, they generally wait to get some other passengers, they say they will only wait 15 min, but once I sat on the van for over 30!

However, if 4 or more, I would get a taxi, same price and faster!! Maybe even 3 is same price!

We have never bothered with a shuttle (or limo). SNA is a very easy airport for many reasons--and one of those reasons is that the cabs are right there (outside the doors of baggage claim) lined up to take you to Disneyland. If I just go with my daughters, we take a regular cab, and if our whole family goes (5 of us) we go up to the person directing the cabs and request a van. He calls on his walkie talkie for one, and within 5 minutes (often less), a van pulls up. It costs the same--cab or minivan. It is about 45.00 one way (plus I always tip of course). I get the business card from the driver, and we call him to pick us up for our ride back to SNA when we are departing.

It is one stop (so no dealing with supershuttle drop offs of other passengers), affordable and convienent.
