I see some posts indicate they have travelled as a solo on ABD. I am very interested in how this was... I am 57 and love all things Disney so why not try a ABD????

I have been on 3 ABD trips traveling solo and I really enjoyed myself. You just book the trip, ABD doesn't match you with another solo traveler so you have your own room at all the Hotels. The only drawback is you have to pay the single supplement which is about 40%.

Thanks for responding. Which ones have you done? Of course I want to do most of them... maybe I could find a room mate on Disboards and save the 40%~
Greece is one of my bucket list destinations....

I've done 4 ABD's as a solo traveler. It's a really wonderful way to go. I feel much safer traveling in a group, knowing that people will notice if I'm not there or don't make it back. As Tozzie said, the only downside is the single supplement. I know a few people who have found roommates on the DIS. It's always worth a try!

I've done Southwest Splendors, Taming the Last Frontier (Alaska), Knights & Lights (London/Paris) and the add-on they did for the Mediterranean cruises. I would not hesitate to do any of the ABD's as a solo.

The Greece trip does look cool. It's definitely on my list.

I'm also looking to do a couple trips solo. I'd love to find out how others found roommates b/c I wouldn't mind rooming with someone from the DIS if it meant a reduced cost.

I figure that traveling solo with ABD is the way to go. I've done the parks solo and am doing a cruise solo (and wow is the single supplement a huge percentage for that!), so I'm confident that I'd enjoy the ABD tours solo. I'm not sure I'd be as confident with another tour company.

Do not ignore ABD, just because you travel solo.

I have traveled solo with them twice. Once on the Southern California: Backstage Magic tour. And once on the Pennsylvania, D.C., and Virginia: Spirit of America tour. And I am older than 60. And I hope to take my third tour with them this summer with Alaska: Taming the Last Frontier.

ABD will treat you as well as anyother travel company, and when you are with your group, if you go ABD, as a solo traveler, you will not be treated any differently than a member of the group who is traveling non-solo.

That is so good to hear, TexasKid. I, too, am very interested in traveling solo and am a bit apprehensive about it. It's nice to hear such reassuring things.
