We're driving from Michigan and leaving around 3am so, the kids will be sleeping in the car to at least Kentucky (I hope!). I've searched high and low, read every mixed review. Does anyone have a good travel pillow that they can recommend for kids? I don't want to drag their big pillows due to limited car space. Would love some suggestions from other drivers. TIA!

Go to someplace like Marshall's or TJ Maxx. They have smaller pillows in their bedding section which would be fine and don't cost very much. No need to buy a specialized travel pillow.

JoAnn's usually has those little pillows too. I don't think I would buy any special travel pillows either.

Not sure how old your kiddos are, but I would stay away from the ones that attach to the seatbelt as those don't look very safe.

We have loved the travel pillows that use microbeads. I personally find them more comfortable as they conform to your neck better. My kids enjoy them and we use them on road trips/long plane rides.

That said, just like a bed pillow, it's a pretty personal decision. I didn't like inflatable or foam ones. But you/your kids might be different. For kids, I've also used cushions. My son has a fish shaped cushion we often bring camping :) These days they are insisting on their full sized pillows though. Since it sits on their laps, etc it really doesn't take up too much space.
