Hi All,
I have a question. I am reading conflicting info on this subject. The DDP pamphlet says that the refillable travel mug is not included in any DDP.
Allears says that its included w/ the QSDP, and the DeluxeDDP but NOT with the Std. DDP.
Passporter says that it IS included in the std DDP.....
Is there any real-life info out there about this? Anyone done this?
Thanks,
Amy

Passporter has a correction on their website. The mug doesnt come with the dining plan. It only comes with the Quick service plan and the Deluxe plan.

the mug is included on Deluxe Dining Plan (DxDP or DxDDP on this forum) and it is included on QSDP.

The mug is NOT included on the Disney's "plus dining" plan - the regular plan with 1 QS, 1 TS and 1 snack per day...this plan is commonly referred to as DDP (for Disney Dining Plan) on this forum.:thumbsup2

I can understand including mugs on the Deluxe plan. It makes sense that you would get extra perks when you pay for Deluxe. But, for the life of me, I don't understand why they would include it on the QS plan and not the standard plan. It's almost like an incentive to buy the less expensive plan. Not the best marketing strategy if you ask me.

Yes, this sort of baffles me as well. :confused3

BUT the less expensive plan (QSDP) is actually not nearly as good a deal as the DDP. Our experience has been the you have to "shop" your QSDP meals more to get full value out of that plan. We typically save 25-30% on our meals with DDP...it's hard to do that with QSDP...which is why they offer an incentive to buy the QSDP plan.

The DxDP is very expensive...which is why they offer an incentive. But what's odd for us is that we rarely use the free mug when we buy the DxDP--we're always full from all that food, lol.

The short answer on why no mug is...because they don't have to offer any incentive on the regular dining plan. It's already the most popular plan, most people who buy dining plan already opt for the regular plan. They don't have to offer any extra incentives to get people to buy it. So from a business-standpoint...no reason for Disney to give anything extra when the product sells itself.

i have found that we do not need the mug on the DDP. Keep in mind that the mug is only good at your resort, so if we are eating at our resort we get a drink anyway. If you want something from the drink island, they just give you a cup and lid and you can refill it as many times as you like while eating. We bought the mugs one year and filled them on our way to the parks. Then we had to carry them around all day, but we usually rented a locker and stored them. Then on our way back to our room we would fill them. But next morning I would always be dumping half full mugs and cleaning them in the sink. I like the Mugs but I dont think we will get them this year. We can get drinks with our meals or we can use snack credits (which we always have extra) to get drinks when not eating a meal.
