Some other trip insurance is avaliable threw other company's
i have not purchased any but i know some one will come up with the names of the one's they have used......
I just purchased insurance for my January trip through Access America. I went to AAA and picked up an application. I saved over $200 for my family of four. I highly recommend buying travel insurance throug a company other than Disney. It's a simple process and much, much cheaper than Disney. Good luck!!
We bought ours through Disney. Actually had to use it on our 2nd cruise (quarantined w/ Norwalk). Disney uses Access America. If I were going to buy direct, I would use them. They did a great job with our claim.
We ended up using http://www.insuremytrip.com/ to compare a number of insurance options. We went with Travelex (was, and still is the cheapest on the site). Since then, I priced Access America directly from their site, and found it to be even cheaper.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you have a pre-existing condition, most companies require you to purchase your insurance within 14 days of your initial cruise payment to have it waived.
You will need some type of insurance for your trip even though it is expensive. I would hate not to be covered in case of an emergency after spending thousands on a cruise. Just think how much money you could stand to lose in order to save a few hundred dollars. We actually had to cancel a Hawaii trip because my dad had to have a triple bypass. I was very glad we shelled out the $70.00 per person, otherwise we would have lost a lot.
