When you own points does travel insurance cover the room cost in case you have to cancel?

I believe it just covers the cost of the maintenance fees on the unused points. You can pull up and review the policy on the member website.

Can you buy the travel insurance through Travelguard or do you have to go with Disney's recommendation of Travel Ex?

Thank you very much. I did some calling around and yes Travelex will cover the maintenance fees for the points used and also for the flight but will not pay for the park tickets in case we had to cancel. I also called Travelguard and they will not reimburse any expense for a timeshare but would cover the flight and tickets so I guess it is one or the other.
