We taken quite a few trips to WDW and I've never gotten travel insurance. This trip though I'm considering it. Our off site resort stay is no refundable and it's for 9 nights. Our airfare is through AirTran which would require a costly change fee if we had to reschedule or cancel. Is it worth it to get it? What does it cover? Do you recommend a particular company? Thank you!

Just make sure you know what covers what. i.e. Will the insurance you're considering cover the cost of your airfare or just the resort?

I always recommend Travelex Select for off-site stays that include airfare. Select covers pre-existing conditions if purchased within 21 days of booking your vacation and two children are covered free of charge when the parents purchase the insurance. Travelex covers your entire trip, including extra travel days. Just be sure to account for all costs such as pre and post night stays, extra travel days and time from your home to the airport, rental car or van service, etc.

We've used insuremytrip.com a few times. You can build a custom package to suit what you want covered.

I usually use the american express travel insurance (about $50 for both my husband and I) when we cruise to cover medical stuff our insurance wouldn't cover. We live in Miami so I don't need flight or hotel coverage but if I did I'd still go with amex and choose an all encompassing package for about $100-200 for me and my husband.

We purchased trip insurance through Travelex Select for our Panama Canal cruise last December. A month before our trip, I fractured my femur and was unable to take the cruise. Travelex Select was terrific - their customer service was outstanding and our claim was processed very quickly. I highly recommend them.
