No doubt they will take the premium, its getting them to pay out thats the problem.I used to use them but they wouldn't pay out for the ash cloud, I was about £1,000 out of pocket, hopefully they have improved.
Also not a fan of insure and go.
We had to take them to the ombudsman to get a payout when DD had chickenpox in florida.
I deal with insurers as part of my job so made sure I had names of people i'd spoken to, copy emails and faxes. eg they denied sending emails I had copies of.
What irked me was i'd saved them money - eg virgin had rearranged the flights at no cost after I spoke to them/faxed them docs (they didn't have to) saved insurers £2000 plus for new flights. Wished i'd not bothered!
I suspect other insurers are just as bad though. I went through top dog this time - they did top up policies for medical conditions so we have an annual family policy and a top up for me (have rare breathing condition)
