I'm planning a trip for the Fall of 2010. We have a very old Golden Retriever (will be 15 soon) and for the first time I'm looking at travel insurance. The DVC website points to Travel Guard International. I was just wondering if anyone has ever purchased this insurance and actually had to use it. Anyone have the details behind this?
I've only purchased travel insurance for travel outside of the states, but I think there are very specific rules for what is an allowable cancellation. You definitely want to read the fine print and call the company to make sure what are allowable cancellations.
i agree. only used for international. a friend of mine bought some for their trip in February, and it ended up working out in their favor. they had their flight delayed 3 days due to weather (one of the 3 blizzards we got up here).. so the whole trip was turned upside down. believe he said that they were going to be reimbursed in the area of $3000. so i guess he's glad he bought it!!
I decided in the end, only to purchase airline travel insurance. Thanks for your feedback! After a bit of research, I agree that it would be worthwhile if this was international travel.
