Travel insurance ????

Ok this may be a stupid question but I can't get my head around it. We always have a rolling annual policy so this has never come up before.

My mum and dad are looking to get insurance for their holiday to spain this summer. The problem is if you take out the insurance just for your holiday you only get cover for the dates that you are away( I think) so what happens if you get ill before you travel and then are unable to go, or if something goes wrong with the TA. They have paid with CC so problems with TA aren't quite so important.

I hope you all understand what I mean and can give me some help.

Whenever we have purchased travel insurance, it has always covered cancellation. You need to check the policy details to see exactly what is included but most travel insurance will include cancellation due to illness or other problems even if you cancel before you go (if that makes sense).

Ive purchased it several times, thankfully never had to use it, but it sure gives you peace of mind

All our policies over the years have covered for illness before the holiday, I think it is just standard.

All single trip policies cover you for cancellation prior to trip for a variety of reasons such as illness or yourself, someone you are travelling with, close family not travelling etc and then curtailment and any illness or losses whilst on holiday.
