I want to purchase travel insurance for our upcoming trip to Disney in September.
Is it just me or is it all really confusing???:confused3
Mousesavers says the Disney coverage isn't all that good so I am looking to purchase through Royal Bank.
My main question I guess is what type of coverage do I need to make sure I have to cover flights being cancelled due to weather e.t.c.?
We have medical through DH's work..
Anyway... I just wondered of you guys could share what you use and what type of policy you need to also cover flight.

Thanks for asking. I've been wondering too. it is my understanding that hurricanes are not covered anyway??? Dunno.

Plus, if you book SWA, and if there cancellation policy is as good as everyone says, then do you still have to worry about this??

Signed - just as confused, lol.

Read the conditions carefully-some do not cover weather related or bankruptcies etc.

Yes, read carefully, mine will not cover any airline that is already in a CHapter 11 in the US.

My work covers medical but I still buy extra, usually through CAA. I bought their Travel Gold package and bought for an entire year as I have many trips planned this year(not all to Disney). It was $130 for the two of us and we are covered anywhere in the world for trips up to 30 days.

Travel agents sell insurance packages and should be well versed in coverage. Visit a local agent selling RBC insurance and they can direct you. That is what I do regardless of how I book the trip.

Go to CAA - they have about the best package around - a bit more expensive then some but covers most stuff - depending on what one you buy even hurricanes and such...

I have medical as well through work, but read your policy carefully they usually have a capped amount, and with medical care so very expensive in the US $500,000 coverage may get you a suture or two::yes::

RBC is the BEST.

And it is peanuts difference to take the additional Medical coverage.
I have a Travel Medical add-on to my Homeowners Insurance (Covers all 4 of us in the family, all adults, up to 2M each--per trip--unlimted trips--up to 30 days each..$82 per year) and when I travel I still take the Deluxe Pkg w/Medical. Take NO chances as the above Poster mentioned, there are all kinds of caps and loopholes all too often!:thumbsup2

Has anyone used the Disney insurance? Or know much about it? Our friend who booked the trip got it for all four of us. Also, is it good for us Canadians?
