Travel insurance?

Wondering whether it is worth the money or not to add this to my trip, since I'm trying to save money anyway I can.

Has anyone ever had to actually use this?

check with your cc company to see if they offer it. I purchased mine through AMEX since I was paying for it all through AMEX and it was considerably cheaper than Disney.

We get travel insurance through our credit card...it has a better deal than Disney's and we get it for free.

I am paying with my Chase Disney Visa to get the reward dollars and the 6 months no interest. Does anyone know if they have trip insurance? Probably not, huh? That would deter people (like me) from getting the trip insurance through Disney LOL

We always purchase the insurance that Disney offers but we've never had to use it.

I did use the trip insurance once. I had a nasty case of poison ivy, and couldn't be in the Florida sun. It was priceless that year.

When I was a travel agent, seems claims were rare because the people who needed it never bought it. I always get it if the penalties are high and the company is known to be a stickler. Some companies are merciful, I think WDW is pretty strict.

We buy trip insurance when we need it but not from the supplier, like Disney. We usually end up with Travelex Lite purchased from insuremytrip.com We end up with more complete insurance and at a far better price.

I have filed claims for a lost camera, a night in a hotel when we couldn't fly out because of a hurricane in Florida, a visit to a doctor an alleric reaction....trip insurance each time reimbursed me.

I'd get a credit card that includes trip insurance - that would save you a lot of money! Or find insurance on the link through Mousesavers - they have the link to insuremytrip.com (so you really don't need the link through them, I guess) and suggestions on trip insurance.

I got a US Air card, so that covers trip insurance worldwide (so it will save us $120 or so on our Europe trip not buying insurance).

Most people will never use the trip insurance. But occasionally, something happens - like a death in the family, etc. It depends how much you will be out as well.
