I want your feedback on whether or not travel insurance is worth it. Has anyone used it or had the need for it? If so, what’s the benefits/payback turnaround time. We haven’t purchased it before but neither have we been to Disney since the pandemic. Thanks!

Do you have any aspect of your trip that is non-refundable?
If so, is it money you can afford to lose?

If you get a policy that covers COVID, can you afford to be quarantined (pay those costs) out of pocket?

I didn't buy it because the refund policy at WDW is pretty generous and/or I could reschedule the trip if need be.

Just for clarification. I am wondering the same about travel insurance for a Disney cruise. The travel insurance would cover the plane tickets and hotel/transportation but not the Disney cruise (because that can be refunded/rescheduled)? Trying to see if I need to include the cost of my cruise in with the total cost of the trip.

Definitely insurance for a cruise, anytime but especially now. Cover the entire trip -- transportation, pre- and/or post-cruise hotel(s) and the cruise. There are many reasons why you want to cover the cruise despite DCL's currently relaxed cancellation policies -- those policies may change because they are temporary, need for medical attention during the cruise either on or off the ship, need to quarantine on or off the ship (and quarantine can happen onboard for things other than covid - such as norovirus or just a kid's upset stomach from travel/excitement/sea water/etc.), "trip interruption" will cover quarantine costs if denied boarding, etc. I see no particularly valid reason to only insure the transportation and hotel.
