Travel Insurance Help

I booked my July 08 trip in March, but did not get around to sorting out the travel insurance, however, since booking I've been diagnosed with breast cancer but it's not going to stop me going in July especially all the treatment I'm going to have over the coming months.

Anyway, my question is, can anyone recommend any good insurance companies that specialise in existing conditions like cancer and that don't charge through the roof?

sorry i can't answer your question regarding insurance, hopefully others on this board can..
i just wanted to wish you well with your treatments....they'll be difficult, but you'll get through them....
and it's a great thing that you have the big trip to look forward to as you go through the treatments....
my sister had a big trip to hawaii that she focussed on during her treatments...
and she made it to hawaii....and another two times since then....and a trip to me here (she just flew back home last week)..

in any case, that trip to hawaii kept her going through it all.....

I hate to say it but if you are undergoing treatment then premiums for insurance may well go through the roof. DFIL is being treated for prostate cancer and tried all sorts of places but they wanted over £2000 at times for the US, even European cover was expensive.

Shame you hadn't taken the insurance out when you booked as although you would of had to tell the insurance company the extra may not have been too much.

I'm afraid I think Claire is right about the premiums but I, too, wanted to wish you all the best with your treatment

Try Age Concern as they have covered DH in the past (although he wasn't, at the time, undergoing treatment)

With Age Concern do they only cover 'older' (don't want to offend anyone)? I'm only 38 years old.

Don't know of any insurance companies but perhaps if you google it some suggestions may come up that you could then look for reviews about.

I also would like to wish you all the best with your treatment, you obviously have the right positive attitude to help make the treatment a success.
