Travel Insurance Company

Hello,
Can anyone recommend a good company to purchase travel insurance? Out last cruise was 6 years ago and I can not recall who we used. Thanks.
We always use one of the travel insurance comparison sites to find a policy. You put in the parameters of what you want covered, and they show you a range of policies that fill the bill for you to compare. Do a google search and you'll find them.

The above mentioned website is very helpful in helping you find what is important to you in your insurance... travel delay, baggage damage/delay, medical coverage, evacuation, cancel for work reasons etc. They will compile a list of your best options based on your priorities. You can call them and they will do it for you, or alternatively, put the parameters in online to get options listed.
Enjoy your cruise!

I always shop policies. This time, I have travelguard which covers pre-existing and I added cancel for any reason. The cancel for any reason would only refund 1/2 of the trip cost and we don't plan to cancel, but wanted it anyway.

In the past I've used Allianz and had to use it when I had to cancel a cruise a few days before the sailing. I did get 100% of the cruise fare back. We canceled for medical reasons.

Allianz is our preferred. Our TA recommends them and has personal experience needing them due to a medical evacuation and they were amazing.

Great advice, but i would add to start by checking what your health insurance may or may not cover and if you paid for your trip with a credit card, what if any coverage they off to find out what coverage you may feel you need.
No need to pay for double coverage.

We're on Medicare - they don't cover out of country. :teeth:

Well, it depends. Straight Medicare, no. But if you subjugate your Medicare to an HMO, it is possible that you will be covered out of the country.
My mom was. Which is why you need to check.

Well, ours is under an HMO, but they also don't cover out of country. :)

Again, that's why you need to check. I didn't say they all do. I know the Insurance Rep came to our company and talked about our coverage and was asked about how much extra we were paying for the coverage, and he said nothing. He said since healthcare costs tend to be lower outside the U.S., they actually save money many times.

I know. Sadly, we don't have any out of country coverage, so have to buy privately.
