Need to sort out some travel insurance for my parents. My mum mentioned it to me about an hour ago - they go away next Thursday....aaargh....talk about leaving it to the last minute lol

They are 59 & 63 and have medical conditions (heart murmur/previous heart attacks for my dad and cholesterol medication for both of them). I have telephone numbers for Saga, Endsleigh and Virgin and shall be calling them tomorrow.

I'm really wondering if you have any recommendations for companies that would cover them.

Many many thanks :)

Is it Europe or US as it does vary from company to company.

Suppose that info would help Claire ...ooops...... annual multi-trip to Europe....haven't quite managed to convince them to venture further away!

That makes it easier as alot of companies are either expensive for US or wont cover for certain people! I have heard M&S can be good. Have they got their European Health insurance card, aka what was the E111, as most insurance companies insist you have this as it can be used in minor medical matters and hence the insurance is not required to become active, I guess it means less expense for them!

Claire ;)

Thanks Claire. yes they do have the new card. Off to make some calls!

Ive always used the company in the link below for both Europe and the US, My mum who is nearly 70 and suffering with quite a few aliments as well, has used them and found them to be really good. Here is the link:

Hope they can help:goodvibes

Thank you Sue.....I've been on the phone for the last hour (thank goodness for 0800 numbers!) and have just managed to sort it out.

In the end I called Saga who quoted £75 but wouldn't do an annual policy and M & S you quoted £105.00 for an annual policy.....guess which one I went with ;)
