Travel from resort to resort

I will be staying alone at POR for a few days before I meet with friends who have booked me into a studio with DVC points at Saratoga Springs. My question is this - I suppose I could call a cab to transfer from POR to SSR, but was wondering if I could do it by boat as each resort has a dock at Downtown Disney? Of course I would be dragging a suitcase behind me and this may not be allowed on the boats. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Personally I would just take a taxi because it will be a lot faster then using any form of WDW transportation.

You might ask at the front desk and see if they will take luggage for you or see if Saratoga will help you. We moved form one resort to another one year and Disney did this for us was back several years ago so not sure they still do that worth a try

Technically, you could take the boat from POR to DTD and then transfer to the SSR boat from DTD. You should be able to arrange for a luggage transfer from POR to SSR so you don't have to lug you luggage. You can't take it on the boats anyway.
