Wanting to travel more but not sure of the legitimate websites to find last minute deals. What are must people using?

Are you looking for land or cruise based vacations? Tours, all-inclusive, do-it-yourself, hotel and airfare only?

Land only at this point. Thinking of airfare but if there is a good deal to book hotel too, I'd probably do that. I always see websites advertised (usually they come up on my facebook feed) but thought maybe there was somewhere I could subscribe and get push notifications sent for last minute trips. Just need trustworthy sites.

Think it will be challenging to find both air AND hotel specials at the last minute. Airlines usually sell the lowest priced seats first and then it jumps to the next higher fare. Last minute deals tend to be less popular destinations where unsold inventory exists. Do you have a specific vacation destination in mind or just want to travel? Some websites also don't tell you the airline or actual hotel name until you book, if that makes a difference to you.

I second Travelzoo, I've booked a ton through them, land/air/car packages as well as just hotels or resorts on their own.

Definitely download the app Secret Flying, they also have a website. They give notifications for travel alerts all over. I was able to grab tickets to LA earlier from Dallas this year for $100 round trip and Dallas to Hawaii for June for $280 round trip nonstop. Just this morning there was an alert for New York to Paris for $275 with United for Nov-Dec this year. I'm hoping I can snag a good deal to South Africa. There have been multiple deals for South Africa just not for my dates yet.

How does the app work, do you sent up where you're departing from and where you'd like to go?

I use sky scanner there is another tip. Look for flights/hotels in secret mode or use a diffrent computer. If you look once the price will go up next time due to the cookies.

Yes when you register you can set up departure cities for alerts or you can have it set up to show everything. The app will send alerts for flight deals, sometimes it is an error fare, or open jaw fare (meaning the return city is different than the departure), and some are just flights that are on sale. It will also give you sample dates for that price. Many times the sale may only last a day or two. Also it usually gives you the option to buy directly with the airline or sometimes through third parties such as Priceline.
