Travel Channel TODAY!

I think everybody loved you guys! The "families" always said things that made sense, etc....but the popups were a little confusing for people who haven't been there I think....But you guys didn't do that! Another thing I liked was that you guys went to MK after AK, so that you got two perspectives on MK.

Yeah, how'd you like that transition -- something like "by dinner time, we've finished the Animal Kingdom." I believe in the interview I first said "Animal Kingdom does not take up a full day..." and I got a "no" sign from the Disney people. So we turned it into the dinner-to-MK transition without giving much of a reason.

What they didn't show was what we did after Wishes -- the production seemed to show us at the end of the day, but when we were released from the camera's, we still were able to do Splash & Space Mt's and do some shopping. But that would have been less dramatic of an ending I guess.

Dave- I loved your family and your touring style. My husband always teases me about my planning so far in advance, and after seeing the show he realizes it is a necessity. I also loved the sentiment about not being able to separate family memories from Disney memories. I know that's what we strive for!!
Thanks

why do i always see these posts the day after:(

I watched for the 3rd time and I cried during Wishes...I think that I am a little homesick for the world even though I have only been there once. I decided to start budgeting for as soon as the boys are out of school.

Dave and Erika I loved the show. What a wonderful experience. I just happened to be watching travel channel, and was happy to catch even 45 minutes. Is there another thread with more information about your tv debut?? I will try to watch on the 20th. Excited for our magical gathering for MNSSHP 10/28, 6 rooms CBR.

jwwi - There are tons of threads about our experiences on the show. :) Just do a search under my screen name and you'll see them.

Dave - We were there in May and it was much different I admit. The magic is definitely not lost, but it has changed a little for me. We have made three trips this year so far and plan to squeeze in one more later this fall or early winter. Our oldest started Kindergarten so we're trying to be good parents and not pull him out of school too much. ;) It was so easy to just fly down on a whim before, but now we are knee deep in school and activities. I'm sure you know how that is. :teeth: Any word on the HDTV version???

Dave Dizney & TigrLvsPooh -

My DH and I loved watching you guys on the show!!!!!!!
I TiVo'd it and now have it permanently to watch whenever I need my Disney fix!

THANKS-you guys rock!!!

None yet -- I keep checking Lightship's and Discovery HD's schedule, but no such luck. Can't wait to see that "extra nine minutes!"

Did I tell you I saw Laura in House of Blues last August? Talk about random! She said the first showing of the program was less than expected, but the second time was a great audience. I'll bet it was from all the DIS posts!

JWWI -- here are a few threads on the show:

Lots o' fun!:earsboy:

Dave, just a funny note. My husband and I watched you Monday for the first time (not the last, caught it on tape), and at one point during the show my husband looked over at me after a comment you made and asked me, "Did you know we were 'bad off'?" I answered him back, "Not until just this minute." This all took place in our Disney themed theater room, surrounded by walls of Disney memorabilia, while sipping cola from our Mickey glasses, nibbling on toast from our Mickey toaster, while Tinkerbell the Cat, and Jiminy Cricket the Dog looked on. Anyway, we got a chuckle. Thanks!

To all of you guys: Our nieces were watching the show with us, and I made the comment that I 'knew' all of you! They couldn't believe me, so they asked my husband if it were true. He answered tongue in cheek, "Sure, they are all family." So true, so true. Thank you for a wonderful show.

To the Levy's: Yeah, right! Try walking up to the Rose and Crown 20 minutes before Illuminations and getting a water seat. Try doing it 2 HOURS before Illuminations and getting a water seatl...... just as impossible! LOL more power to you. My husband was so jealous of your massages.

Less than expected? How could they expect people to watch when the show wasn't advertised at all? I watched the Travel Channel for two solid weeks leading up to the premiere... I saw hundreds of commercials for their show on Greece, the road trips show, and probably a million for John Ratzenberger, and never saw ONE for our show. Not one. I also checked the website daily and they never mentioned it once. So how were people supposed to know it was on??? Even the day of the show I was expecting to see little "coming up tonight" type of snipets, but the only thing they showed was a still shot of the castle with the show title. Luckily we spread the word here on the DIS and to our friends and family or I'm sure nobody would have seen it. I still run into die hard Disney fans all the time who have never heard of the show.... and they watch the travel channel all the time. It doesn't really make sense to me??? Is it because Lightship made the show??? Maybe they only do commercials and advertising for the shows they make themselves?? I don't know.

Anyway! It's on again Sept. 20th at 7:00 pm eastern. ;)

I KNOW!!! I thought I'd die over how many ads were on about the Greece special (of course, the Olympics were going on -- but really, who would you rather see, us or beach volleyball?).

I fully expected to see us on a commercial we taped. Remember our introductions? We did a much longer version of this that we were told might be used to advertise the special. Actually I'm glad it wasn't cause it felt a little goofy to me. Did you do a longer version of your intro, Erika?

And how about the notice about the last show? That came out of nowhere! And what about the Discovery HD show? Nothing is out about that! Will we ever get our extra 9-minute copy???

And what about a sequel????

LOL :teeth: :teeth:

If I hear or see anything I'll let you know. I've just been checking the DiscoveryHD website, but nothing yet.
