I used to love the Travel Channel...it was one of my favorites and my husband and I used to enjoy getting up early, having some cinnamon rolls and coffee and watching the Travel Channel.

Lately...I've noticed the programming is all the same..."Anthoy Bourdain, No Reservations" and "Bizarre Foods with Andrew" with a little bit of World Poker and whatever her name is who does the new weekend getaways. But the variety is gone and everyday is the same thing....

Anyone else notice this?

I like the first two shows you mentioned but I HATE the poker crap. My issue is that it seems like the majority of their travel shows are all done by Samantha Brown who neither myself nor my husband can STAND! Can we PLEASE find someone who doesn't seem like a complete nitwit to show us around the globe?

I completely agree! I have the "Food Network" if I want to watch gross food shows (which, btw, I don't), I want to watch TRAVEL shows on the Travel Channel! :upsidedow

I agree! I could never figure out what World Poker had to do with travel. :confused3

Yes! That's her name...Samantha Brown...She used to do Great Hotels, but that's gone. I don't really like her...I don't like "short boy hair" on young women...Sorry, don't mean to offend, but I will watch her if it's about Disney, but lately, their programming is so limited...I mean, the economy is bad...Can't they entice me with more than gross foods?

Anyone else here seeing the irony of complaints about repetition on the Travel Channel from the people who repeatedly vacation at WDW?:rolleyes1

I was just thinking the same thing today. There are few shows and like you said they are repeated over and over again. I loved when they did travel weeks and did shows like the top 10 beaches, water parks, etc. but I haven't seem them lately and when I have, they are old shows that are repeats as well. I need my vicarious travel fix!
One of my favorite travel shows was 1.000 Places to See Before You Die...was this on Travel Channel? It was a good show.
I agree though, Travel Channel is boring me...

Well, we really like Samantha Brown (short boyish hair and all!) but that is about all I'll watch on there and I won't watch if I've seen it 10 times either. I think the reason they do not do new shows of the
top 10 beaches, waterparks etc." is because they've stayed the same w/o anything new to tell.

Travel Channel was fun for awhile but it has grown stale. I hate the poker and the gross foods turn my stomach. I used to enjoy watching Hunter reno take me to some island somewhere. Those aren't replayed now.

I'm feeling your pain! Those two food shows just gross me out, so I don't watch. What the heck does the poker junk have to do with travel?

The only new show I've seen advertised is tentatively called "Bridgette's Beaches", coming in August, with host Bridgette Marquardt from "Girls Next Door".

What ever happened to shows like "Globe Trekker"?:confused3

Wha?? Wha? What?:scared1: That's a goddess that you are bad mouthing there. I will agree that the Travel Channel is stuck with a pretty limited horse and pony show. There are literally thousands of travel shows available and they show the same ones over and over and over. I love the channel when they put something on worth watching but Anthony, Andrew and Poker are not the combination. I could stand more of Samantha but that's just because I am in love.

Those food shows do not interest me at all. Neither does the poker. The Travel Channel is pretty much irrelevant to me with its current programming.

I cannot STAND the poker nonsense.

I like No Reservations, but not Zimerns show.

I like Samantha Brown, but she is always on.

i could watch man vs. food over and over again.

I like Man vs Food also but I have to agree, most of the time they are not showing what I want to see. I like travel shows!

I am so glad others noticed this as well!! I commented last week that all that is on anymore is food shows and poker! It used to be my favorite channel but now I don't even bother looking.
