So I'm on the 20 day countdown and trying to get organised. This is my first trip to disney without my parents (6th visit 28years old). Staying offsite

What do people do regarding money/cash/credit cards.

I'm considering getting the travelex cash passport from tesco as don't like idea of taking just cash.

We are putting most of our spending money on the Travelfx pre paid mastercard then the rest cash, enough for tips cabs etc. This is a first for us, normally we used travellers cheques but everyone here seems to recommend a pre paid card :-)

First time visitor to Disney, but i've had a cash passport (moneyshop) for about 4 or 5 years. I think its one of the best things that has ever come out. Myself and my partner both load equal amounts onto it and us it for anything we are both having, food, drinks ect. Then we take cash with us for our own spends and if we run out we of course have credit cards.

First used mine in Las Vegas about 4 years ago and got a few strange looks as it didn't have my name on it. Some would just ask for ID and some didnt bother. That has since ran out so i've had my replacement one sent and it now has my name on. Used it last year for again Vegas with nobody questioning it at all. Easy to keep track of the amount on there via the website and great to use. Cant recommend them enough.

I also read yesterday a post that they said you shouldn't link it to your magic band as it stops you using it else where. Which is a shame

I had money taken from my card by god knows who and that was before we even left the UK, Travelex were a complete waste of time and told me the card must have been stolen, it never left our house.:mad:

There are options other than Travelex. I've opted for a card from Mytravelcash.com

Recommended to me by several friends who have used all the different types that they have.

Can recommend the fairfx card, left my debit card when checking in at port Orleans and then every few days when I was passing through the main building I would settle the account with the fairfx, excellent no hidden charges.
Even used to make purchases in US dollars before we left home, for example garden grocer shop that was delivered just after we arrived.
Have seen the exchange rate as high as 1.69 recently. This gives you the option of buying dollars when the rate is good. However check more than once a day as the rate at fairfx can change throughout the day.

So pleased with fairfx I now have a euro card as well!
