What's the safest and most trust worthy and effective way to book your WDW vacation? Through a travel agent or online? :surfweb:

thanks in advance for your input.

Have you looked at our main information site www.wdwinfo.com? The answer to a lot of your questions can be found there.

You can also check out www.allearsnet.com and www.disney.com to get a lot of the information you have been asking about. You will probably find things you hadn't even thought of! WDW has probably the most websites I have ever seen to help you plan your trips!

you are right there is so much information all over, Im asking questions I didn't even know would come up. But here's a question for you, do you know of any grocery delivery service. Maybe one I can order online like "fresh direct"? We are not renting a car this trip, but would like some basic groceries.

I haven't used grocery services but if you post that question on the Budget Board or the Disney Tips board I am sure you will get lots of recommendations.

Oh, I should have recommended some great books to you also! I LOVE the Unofficial Guide to WDW and it was my "bible" when I first started learning about Disney. You can probably get it at your library--even if it is not a current copy most of the basic information doesn't change from year to year. The Passporter Guide is also a great resource. I haven't seen it in the libraries because it is rather "interactive", but you should be able to purchase it any of the large book stores.

There are tons of other books written about WDW but those are the ones most often recommended and my personal favorites.

if this is one of your first trips, you might want to consider a travel agent who specializes in Disney as this can be less stress for you. Otherwise, there are many links here to help with your decisions.

Re: grocery shopping, two that are extremely popular and reliable are: wegoshop and gardengrocer.

Check out your library for resource books on Disney world as well as this board.

Definately a Travel Agent. Do your research on-line :surfweb: and here through the DisBoards but then go visit a professional who has done this a hundred times. They'll know about various specials, promotions and can often save you money over going directly through WDW.:flower3:

how and where do I contact them? is there a fee? are they reliable?

CRO is simply Disney's own reservation line. It is free.

I would recommend doing it yourself. That way, you learn more about Disney and are more prepared. It's super easy to book a WDW vacation. No TA needed. Just keep up on things through the DIS.

I definitely recommend using Disney's website to book online or calling CRO. that way you remain in control of your reservation and can easily make any changes if needed, without having to go through a 3rd party. You can also make payments online if needed.

Do it yourself!!!!! Using these boards (and others) you can find deals equal to what a travel agent would find (if they bothered to look).

If you use a travel agent, double-check every single thing on your own!!!!!!!!! I worked in the hotel industry for years, and 99% of the check in errors came from travel agents. Everything from room requests that weren't there, to reservations for the wrong month. "Sorry... you don't get a room. We're sold out and ABC Travel booked your room for next month."

Knowing this, I still booked a cruise with a supposedly trusted travel agent (my dad had used her for business for years). Every step of the way was screwed up.

Agents sometimes have great resources, but unless it's your sister (who you know you can call at 2am), check and double-check it yourself.

I agree with DisCooper. I'm sure there are destinations that make the use of a TA worthwhile. Disney isn't one of them. It is so easy to deal with Disney and the TA cannot get you any better deals there than you can get easily for yourself.
