I always plan my own Disney trips but we're going to go on a Disney cruise for the first time ever :cheer2::banana: so I am hoping to find a travel agent to help me. I've never cruised before so I'd like an expert to help. I'm having problems finding one I seem to click with though. :confused3 They either try to force me into what they want or are very hands off. I actually got snapped at by one today. She's definitely not getting my business! Have you used one in the past and who would you recommend?

I have always used Tracey at Dreams Unlimited and she is kind and helpful, but honestly I don't ask her a lot of questions - I really just use her for the onboard credit. The internet (especially this forum) has a ton of information on Disney cruises if you have the time to search it out. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, hopefully if someone knows of a TA who is an expert in cruising they will chime in.

I don't use a TA for info. I used cruisecritic messages boards heavily for our first cruise in 2003. They gave me more info than any one TA could possibly have given me. I wouldn't want one TA to have so much "say" over my experience. Id rather get feedback from 100 experienced cruisers. :)

I use the TA that gives me the most financially.

I am a travel agent as well but my niche market is corporate travel. I do not do DCL vacations (awful commissions and awful OBC since our agency doesnt do much DCL business and I want my clients to get the best for their dollar). There are agencies out there, like Dreams Unlimited, that sell a ton and will have the BEST on board credit and other incentives for you. Be sure to find out what the on board credit and other incentives are from each agent as well as making sure you like them. For example, the agency I work for is bottom tier on DCL so we offer zero on board credit. Dreams Unlimited is top tier, and on the cruise we went on with DCL, I think there was a $400 on board credit!

A DCL cruise will be the same price no matter who or where you book it...what is different are the various "perks" that each company can offer.

We have used Beth Fejer with Dreams Unlimited for at least five years and 5-7 cruises. She is very good and extremely helpful. We ran into a problem before our last cruise as our daughter was placed on bedrest with her pregnancy, Beth was on vacation and still jumped in to help us get our cruise moved and saved me an enormous amount of personal stress. I can not recommend her highly enough.

Thanks for this info! I would have not thought to compare credits and such. I guess I just thought they were the same everywhere.

Thanks for the info everyone! I've contacted a few more agents to see what they can offer.

We always use Crystall Burriss from DWB vacations and I cant recommend her enough. She is very attentive to details, always available to contact, and she was able to help us schedule the perfect trip every time.

I don't get anything from the recommendation but to give you an idea, we love her so much we have invited her to travel with us :)

Something to keep in mind that most people don't seem to know.... travel agent's services are FREE to the traveler. It is the company (Disney in this case) who pays them.
