This isn't specific to Disney but I thought I might find someone that could help me. I am a member of a group that puts on a conference every 18 months that is specific to my son's diagnosis. We travel with our son on a regular basis so it's no big deal for us but I take for granted that there are lots of people that don't travel on a regular basis much less travel with a child with special needs. The families traveling will most likely range from just parents who leave their kids at home to families traveling with very involved children....wheelchairs\trachs\tubes\seizures\oxygen, etc.

We really want to encourage families to bring their kids and because our group is growing we have discussed using a travel agent this year to help book flights. The more I thought about it the more I think it would be a great advantage to have an agent that has actually been there done that rather than just an agent who can rattle off the airline policy. I think a personal experience might convince some to take their kids that otherwise might not.

Does anyone know of an agent that might fit this?

Hey Mike,
Your organization sound like it will be a big help to families with special needs. Unfortunately, I believe it is against the Dis board rules for posters to recommend a travel agent.
I sure wish you luck with this though!

While it's not allowed for someone to come here to promote their own business, it's certainly allowed for posters to recommend companies or individual travel agents that they've worked with and had positive experiences with, as long as it isn't done for financial gain.

Unfortunately, I can't offer any recommendations to the OP.

If anyone has a recommendation of a TA for the OP -- please post the full website address; as long as it passes the filters it is OK to post the TA.

I work with an organization that serves people and families impacted by a particularly rare condition that significantly impacts mobility for those affected.

Folks get together rather infrequently because, in part, of the rareness of the condition (something like 300-350 or so in the US) and the significant costs of travel (for some).

Finding hotels that have sufficient numbers of accessible rooms can be a little challenging, and blocking those rooms can also be a little complicated.
