We're looking to return to WDW next year. We need to book a package as due to family illness we might have to cancel and I don't want to lose the flight costs. We'd like to do 2 nights at a Universal resort then 2 weeks at OKW. DH is a teacher so stuck with August. I got a quote from Ocean Florida but at £8,500 (2A 2C, inc Disney tix and car) it's too much.

Can any DISers suggest another agent I can contact for a quote? Thanks so much!:)

All I can say is don't use Going Places as we used them last time we went over and had nothing but problems. We booked as soon as fights came out and got annual insurance with them, but what they didn't tell us was the insurance started as soon as we paid so it would have run out before we came back, that is if I hadn't looked carefully at the small print. We tried to change it but had real problems and ended up nearly cancelling it, luckily they came round and changed it for us, but would never go back to them.

Good luck :thumbsup2

The possibility of having to cancel doesn't necessarily mean you have to book a package. That's what travel insurance is for.

I can't recommend any TAs, I'm afraid since we don't book packages but I hope you manage to get something sorted. If cancellation IS a possibility, though, make sure you check all the Ts&Cs as far as cancellation fees/loss of deposit goes.

Thanks Wilma. The thing is, the insurace won't pay out for an already diagnosed illness. With a package we can review the situation when the balance is payable and the worst that can happen is we lose the deposit.

I would just not book until I was certain of going. I couldn't pay TA prices. Last time I compared it was £5,000 DIY compared to £12,000 with Virgin holidays. This August we have been waiting for my Son to confirm his University placement in the US, only booked a few week back.
