Travel agent rate

Disney does offer a TA rate, but it depends on the time of year and demand.

I would recommend going on the Disney Travel agent website, get the number to call, then call and check.

I have called when it's been available, and when it has not.

I am not a Travel Agent but I do qualify for an Interline Rate, which you should also. The Interline rate for disney is 50% room rates whenever you travel. There is no discount on the passes, however, there is a discount on packages but it is not as good as the 50% off rooms. Beats having to wait for AP rates.

Interline Rates are Special deals that people that work in the travel industry get. They are usually for Airline Employees, however, many others qualify. The company I work for designs reservation software for Travel Agents and Airlines so I qualify for this. Go to PERX.COM and give them a call and see if you can use your IATA number to qualify. The discounts you may get are not just for Disney.

upon checkin, and possibly a copy of the IATAN list from your agency.

If you do not have your IATAN card - you should check with your manager at work.

Also - be forwarned - in order to get the discounts on the tickets you need to order them a ways out - something like a month if I'm not mistaken. (tho' it may be 2 weeks)

Also if you call Disney - really consider using your IATAN discount to purchase your tickets and do room only - it does work out to less money.

One thing I did learn - is that they used to hold you to about a month out for reservations - but they put a lot of the TA rates in at the end of the year - so call quick - some of the avail' may be gone.

It comes to almost 50% total rack when it's all said and done - and that's ALOT of money if your staying at a deluxe!

i have called disney, they said ta rate is not availible at GF on dc 19-dec30... and he does not know any ta rate... i have iata card, i am a new agent... anyone can help?

I am a TA, and I go to Disney frequently using the TA rates. I'm not sure if you'd be able to get them by calling any CM or not, I usually use the TA line for all my calls to Disney anyway. The rates are usually around 50% off rack rate. In the past month we stayed at the WL for $99.00 per night before tax, and we're staying at the GF in a few weeks for $189.00 including tax standard view.

The one downside to booking the TA rate is that they aren't always released at the same time that AP rates or other discounts are. I'm usually able to get them a month or two in advance. And they are not room only rates, they are basic plan rates. The only way to book is under the package terms, so you have the $200.00 deposit and then the balance due at 45 days.

You can get it through the CRS you are using. (Sabre/Apollo/Worldspan)

Some of the rates MAY come available closer to the date - however I'd not keep my hopes up, as December's a busy time and they are less likely to offer the rates then.

I know that AP rates are often the same as the TA rates... I think the BIG advantage is the discount you'd get on your personal ticket. Then the tickets you'd purchase for your family is also discounted (but really no more than you can find elsewhere)

If I were still an agent - I'd probably look over Mousesavers and see if you can find better discounted tickets for your family.

The folks at the TA line are good - and have always been willing to help me for my personal travels! I wasn't in "sales" and never booked with them, but they still were incredibly friendly!! :sunny:
