Quick question this is the second year I have ever booked a Labor Day deal with a travel agent. I book 4 rooms for 13 people. My question is does anybody's travel agent give them anything? Maybe a small welcome gifts or something for the kids? I'm not asking for anybody's actual travel agent I'm just deciding if I should look for a new travel agent or go back to doing it myself.

Thank you
Nicole

I have one travel agent that I use for cruises and have used for land trips in the past, and do recall getting some small premiums from them (autograph book, lanyard pouches, luggage tags, etc.) Then we discovered what I think might be the agent you're talking about (booking for Labor Day again this year), and we didn't get anything from them last year... but I'm fine with that all things considered.

I only use our TA when they have a TA exclusive deal going on, by far beats any discount that I can find myself. I know that they give some small gifts if you book a package with them but since we are AP holders, we only do the RO reservation. But I rather save $$$ then get a small gift etc.

I'm a Disney travel agent and we send small welcome gifts, depending on the age of the kids, adults ect. My last group requested that we don't send a welcome gift. I'd just ask!
I feel stupid asking I just thought she would've done it on her own especially since not only did I book 4 rooms I also sent 3 different friends to her that booked trips last year..... Maybe it's time to switch.... Thanks for your input

I don't think we advertise that we send gifts, it's just kind of a surprise when you get there. Most of my clientele is local based so I like to hand deliver their gifts before they leave. If you really want to know I'd phrase it as "hey! Do you do any promotions for groups like water bottles or autograph books? I'm thinking of putting a welcome basket together for our group but don't want to get double items if you do!"

That will probably send the message that you're expecting something. I also give my client referrals (for hair and for Disney) a 5 dollar Starbucks card for sending me a family that books! Nothing like a free drink for your trip!

I also booked the same deal last year and sent people to my agent. Your gift is the 55% savings you are getting on the room. We never received a gift and I'm ok with that.

I agree! I am staying at The Beach Club with water park bonus for cheaper than what Pop Century was through Disney without the waterpark bonus! That's a gift that has me beaming ear to ear!!

I have to agree. We were able to book the Poly for our 10th anniversary with the same deal. Ordinarily, a deluxe is completely out of our budget. I don't care if the agent does another darn thing for me :)

I guess I'm confused as to why the TA is required to give YOU something, and if he/she doesn't you should find another one that does. My TA gives us the opportunity to take vacations we'd never be able to afford otherwise. I feel more like I should get HER something!

I agree with the others. I don't understand why you expect anything more than good service on top of a hefty discount.

I booked the same agency exclusive deal three times and that is definitely gift enough! I book my Disney cruises through Dreams Unlimited and have received a nice gift from them in my stateroom upon boarding. On our last cruise, the gift was shipped to my house. It was a really nice gesture.

Same here! This is our first time booking through them. I have never stayed at a deluxe resort before, so being able to do so for such a great price is amazing in itself! We are super excited to finally stay at an Epcot resort. I paid half of what I paid for my Riverside trip last year.

Exactly. When we book with their Labour Day deal, massive discount is enough of a gift. When we book with them using regular Disney discount we do get a gift. A very generous one I might add. They don't have to do this, and it wouldn't be grounds for me to look for another agent. I have also referred to her, by the way.

It's probably why Wdw housekeeping discontinued towel animals. It was supposed to be random surprise treat, then people started getting upset and demanding them to be done.

I must be missing something. Where are finding these TA's that get you such great discounts? Nobody has ever done more for me than I can do myself

I normally don't use a TA, and you're spiked my curiosity. What kind of gifts?
