I have seen that some people have their TA book things like Palo brunch, tastings, etc. I'm just curious how that works? Do they stay up for midnight on night things come available to book? We'll be on our 3rd cruise in January and was unaware of this. Is there a advantage/ benefit to asking your TA to handle these things?
TIA

In my opinion the biggest disadvantage is that you have to give your TA your password to your Disney account. They don’t have a special way. And I am sure that’s why many TAs don’t offer it. They don’t want to have access to your account for all kind of liability issues.

Otherwise the only benefit would be that you don’t have to stay up. But all the other issues like availability etc are the same for a TA.

For DCL the TA can do it from their own login. They don't need yours. That said, it's no different than you doing it yourself. They get access at the same time to the same inventory.

Wait is this true for activities and excursions too? The one time I used a TA (for a cruise that was later cancelled due to Covid), she kept asking me for my login to book activities and I kept saying I’d just do that myself because I wasn’t comfortable handing over my login. But she was generally unhelpful.

Yes, for DCL a TA can book anything you are able to book through their own login. For WDW they need your login.

Some travel advisors offer this service, others offer the service for a fee, while others do offer the service. If you are contacting a travel advisor about DCL, be sure to ask upfront what services they offer, and if they charge any additional fee for those services.

The main disadvantage with having your TA do bookings is that, if the time you want isn't available, unless they have a list of alternates, they won't know what to do. It's far easier to do it yourself so that you can modify your plans on the fly if necessary.

I always use my travel agent. She has her own login and stays up until midnight. She has always given me excellent service. If you got the best, forget about the rest.
