Traumatized

Passed by a horrific car wreck in Ocala today. I knew it was BAD bad, there were people all over the ground. I just saw on the news it was fatal x2 . A tow truck driver and a state trooper who was a mom to a young child were killed. Another gentleman is in critical condition. There was a small 2 car accident, the trooper stopped to help and while the tow truck was loading a car from the accident, a young driver in a big pick up slammed into the back of the cruiser causing a 7 car pile up and ran over the people standing on the shoulder. Please hug your family tight, and pay attention on the road. I am getting so used to seeing cars swerving all over while people play with their phone, it's almost routine. My heart aches for these families. Just a regular work day for the trooper and tow truck guy, and now they are gone. I am just so sad for their families.

A firefighter responding to an accident had unknowingly spent part of his daughter's last moments with her. He was the one who actually pulled her from the vehicle and didn't know it was his daughter (guessing from trauma to her)

I hear about this more and more. People being hit on the side of the road.

Move over people!~ I'm so sad for everyone involved and so sad you had to witness it.

Sorry you had to witness that. I'm sure you can relate to the young mom.

It reminds me of a situation we had here, only the trooper lived in a brain-injured state for 8 years before she passed. She was one of the first female state troopers in MA and the first to die in the line of duty. So many lives were affected by that accident:

I know how you feel. My 16 year old is a new driver and I point out the dangers as we travel. A few weeks ago we were coming home from the dentist when we saw a Lexus that had apparently tried to turn from a highway thru the median and across to another street, but it was hit on the side by a large SUV traveling 65 plus mph. I knew by seeing that car that any passenger in that Lexus would not have survived, and the next day we found out that a 16 year old passenger passed away.

That was bad, and today's wreck in Oxford, Alabama was too. A 20 year old girl was driving her mom and younger brother when she apparently tried to outrun a train and was hit. It killed her mom and younger brother and she is in critical condition. I don't know this family but my heart breaks for them.

The wreck today worried me because just yesterday my daughter didn't stop before crossing the train track, and I caught her not looking, but relying on the crossing guards and lights. We had a long talk about this. I showed her the article so I hope she will lie more careful now.
