Traumatic Day at work

Gosh! Today was a rough one! My boss called an office wide meeting to announce he was fired that morning. We are all in shock. We love our boss and have heard rumors that our new boss will be a real terror. There was no warning and we're all worried about what changes a new agency head will want to make. None of us can afford to lose our jobs!!


Then my sister called to tell me that she was diagnosed as diabetic this morning. She is six months pregnant and it has not been easy for her.

I'm so worried.

Thank you for the kind thoughts! My office has the air of a funeral parlor right now. Everyone is crying or walking around worried. And the day just started. This is a big adjustment but everyone here is trying to support each other like a family. And that helps a lot. It also helped to be able to share my concerns with the DIS. Sorry about your work situation.

As for your sister, gestational diabetes in a pregnancy is manageable and usually disappears after the pregnancy is complete.

This happened at DH's company last January. They actually fired the founder! Needless to say, morale has been in the dumpster ever since My DH was sooooo upset that day, and I didn't know what to say to help him feel better. It came as a shock to everyone, including the person who was fired. It was all political, too. If you all loved your boss, the same is probably true...someone felt "threatened" by her, so they got rid of her. Office politics stink!!
