Interested in booking a character breakfast at Trattoria al Forno when our ADR window opens up... super excited!

It's my understanding that we can take a ferry boat from there to Hollywood Studios or Epcot, is that correct?

Would a 7:30 reservation time put us getting to HS or Epcot around rope drop?

You can take the ferry to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, you can also walk to either. Walking to EPCOT will be the quicker option from Trattoria is would be maybe 10 minutes at the most probably more like 7. Walking to Hollywood Studios would be about 20-25 minutes. The ferry to Hollywood Studios could be the same length or longer depending how long you have to wait for the ferry to show up.

The ferry's on Crescent Lake go Epcot-Boardwalk-Yacht Club-Swan/Dolphin-Hollywood Studios and in the reverse order going back to Epcot. There isn't a strict schedule, but you can generally expect up to a 20 minute wait for a boat going in your direction. The whole trip from Epcot to Hollywood Studios takes about 30 minutes.

Depending when the park your going to opens, you may make it you may not, I wouldn't count on it as the character breakfast and can take a while for characters to come around. Most character breakfasts you can bank on an hour to hour and a half for length.

A 7:30 am reservation would most likely get you to the EP IG entrance by RD. BWI to EP is a 5 minute walk, tops. It will take a little longer to get to DHS. Walking will take about 15-20 minutes at a good clip. The boat can take much longer. I would suggest making this an EP day for time's sake.

As for timing to make RD, I think you might be okay, but the characters do not all start coming out super fast. We had a 7:45 ADR and were a few minutes late and so we sat down to our table about 7:50 am and they were just introducing the first character. It seemed like the next character was about 5 minutes later and then 5 more and then 5 more after that. There are also some parades that slow down the characters going around. It did look like they were trying to seat the guests in the same areas as they arrived so that the characters could stop at those tables first.

I would suggest asking for the check early if you really want to get out when you are done. We had some 4 year olds that were being temperamental that morning so I sent everyone else out while I paid the check. I want to say we spent about 70 minutes at this meal so you probably could make RD.

If you miss the ferry as it is pulling away from BW to DHS, it will take a bit. We missed the ferry and they were already pulling away before my sister and I started to walk to DHS. The boat was docking as we came around the bend by the buses. The people on the boat might have only gotten in the park a couple of minutes before us. The rest of our party got to the DHS about 20-25 minutes after we had been in the parks.

NOTE: I was not walking particular fast and we even stopped to watch some ducks.

Thanks for the info, everyone. Will plan to do this on our Epcot day. So, we would take a 10 minute walk from the boardwalk to the international gateway entrance, correct?

I'm thinking this would be a good way to make FEA?

Max 10 minute walk. It really is right around the corner from the Epcot entrance. Not sure about FEA - you'll have to walk up towards the front of the park and loop around so don't know if you'll be in front of, with, or behind the rope drop crowd from the front entrance.

Would it make more sense to do rope drop at Epcot, do a couple attractions, then head over to Trattoria El Forno? I'm thinking if the walk is that short we could do that and have a late breakfast, then do Fast Passes after that.
