I'm in, and I feel your pain. My family thinks I am being anal, but I really can't understand why they can't seem to see something that needs to be picked up. It must be invisible, and I have super powers to see it.

One time I got sick of DH's dirty clothes laying all over the house. So I picked them up and deposited them under his pillow. I have threatened to do the same with many other things that don't get picked up.

Laura, my mom did that with us and an empty toilet paper roll once. It sat on the floor for a VERY long time. Wish I could remember how long - but she finally picked it up and went off on us for it. Good luck!!

I've tried this before, and DH never, ever noticed the trash/other item left out, so I got increasingly irritated and threw it out/put it away. Now, I just flat out tell him to pick it up, or I make a HUGE show about picking stuff up, and if he balks about my theatrics, I tell him he could have avoided it but getting off his duff and doing it himself.

My family would never pick that up. I'm sure they'd never even see it. But like someone else posted my dog would have gotten it almost immediately and it would be shredded in a million pieces. Then my family would probably notice it but would still not pick it up.

Mine is the trash can. My family will overflow the thing until trash starts hitting the floor......drives me crazy. If I didn't take the trash liner out, tie it up, and throw it in the dumpster, it would never get done......and I have offered bribes along the way too. Doesn't matter......never gets removed until I do it. Glad I went to college........

I have a similar experience to relate, but with a twist. My husband noticed something on the floor, and chose to not pick it up. I never saw the offending item, don't even remember what it was, but at any rate he announced one day "I've been waiting for three weeks for you to pick that up!"

My response? "If you've been looking at something for three weeks that needed to be picked up and you've been waiting for me to do it..that makes you an *** hole!"

When my brother and his fiance moved in together they once left a small pot on the dining room table for 10 weeks because each one wanted to see how long it would take the other one to wash it !!! I believe my brother finally threw it away.

They've now been married for a year and a half and my brother complains about how he does all the cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Gee... didn't see that coming.

Remember the Ebay sale where the mom listed a box full of everything her kids left laying around for the week? That was hilarious!
My bet is that it will never get picked up- it will get kicked under the dishwasher.

I did this with a paper towel in the middle of my kitchen floor once. DH never did notice it.
