I understand that when you stay DVC you get trash and towel service on the fourth day.

What if you need an extra fresh towel?
What if your basket is full of trash on day two?
What if you want more little soaps and shampoos?

What if you need an extra fresh towel?
Towel Package, $6.00 - 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
What if your basket is full of trash on day two?
Take it to the trash room.
What if you want more little soaps and shampoos?
Toiletries Package, $5.00 - 1 facial soap, 1 bath soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel

It sounds like home doesn't it, having to take the trash out? There are extra trash liners either under the current bag or in one of the drawers in the kitchen/kitchenette area. There also is a recycle container, that you can also take to the trash room and empty it into the recycle bin.

If you are in a 1BR or 2BR you can launder you towels or if in a studio you have to use the laundry room. Or as Mike (erionm) states in his post, you can get a Towel package. BTW, the extra towels from the Towel package will be removed from your room on your Trash and Towel or cleaning day(s).

It seems silly to me that if I decide I need more towels on the evening of day 2 that they would come take them from my room during the morning/afternoon of day 4 after I paid money for them. (a day and 1/2 later) If I leave them in my washer or dryer so that I can use them for the rest of my stay, will they take them out or leave them there so I can wash them and use them until I check-out?

So, how many towels will we get when we check in? We will be a family of 6 in a 2 bedroom at OKW. Just wondering if I should bring some with us-we bring our own soap/shampoo anyway-but we usually leave the towels at home!

You get 1 towel set for each sleeping space in the room - so one per person by the occupancy.

If you don't leave them on the towel rack or in the tub or on the floor, they probably will not take them. They don't go looking for them.

I've owned DVC for over 10 years and have never ordered towels or extra housekeeping. I usually stay in a 1 bedroom so if I feel the towels need washed, I wash them. I don't like to reuse wash cloths so I will sometimes bring colored ones from home, they don't take much room.

I ordered the towel package once and on T&T day they replenished both towel packages. Also, whenever I still have a clean towel or washcloth left on T&T day, they leave them and still replenish with a full package, so often I have 5 or 6 towels and 6 or more washclothes (in a studio). Obviously, the more bathrooms you have the more towels you have. We were at the BLT in a one bedroom last month and had 8 bathtowels, 8 washclothes, and 4 hand towels. This was for 4 adults and 2 little ones. Also if there are towel animals in your room, tear those babies apart and use them for what they were made for....!

I always hang my towels in the closet on the pants hanger to dry, it seems to dry better there than in the bathroom on the towel bar. Plus, no one will dry their hands on my towel if I put it away.
I also bring my own queen sheets (dark blue) that I put on the bed when I check in. I move around alot and always rip the flat sheets off the bed so now I just cover them with my fitted sheet and leave it on the entire time. I change my sheets once a week at home, why should I have them changed more often just because I am on vacation. I got them at IKEA for $3 each and they are my vacation sheets. I use the white flat sheet and blanket, but fold the bedspread, I have seen 20/20. lol
On "cleaning day" I leave the do not disturb tag on the door and call down to tell them not to bother cleaning the room. They do leave the clean towels and sheets in a basket by the door for me and I do change the hand towels and facecloth but not the sheets or bath towels.
I take out my garbage every day when I leave the room, why invite bugs, Fl has enough outside, I don't want them inside too.
I also always bring my own shampoo, cream rinse and bath soap. I find the Disney stuff to be too drying. but I do take it home and bring it to my local hospital. They use it as prizes for the bingo games they play with the kids. I liked the stuff with Mickey on it so much better and so did the kids.
