Trash & Towel

I want to be clear I was not complaining--we, too, kinda like that housekeeping isn't in and out of our room. I was simply asking if this was something new. We were at the BCV in September, and did not see any baskets.

To my surprise, the day after I posted here, we returned to our room, and we noticed the trash was taken care of. A little while later, we received a phone call from the housekeeping manager who was very concerned about the service we did/did not receive. She explained she had received an email regarding our incident! I was shocked! I know the boards are monitored, but how did she know who I was????? I assured her that I did not send any email (which she knew).

She explained that they stopped using the carts in November and now use the baskets in lieu of the carts. The housekeepers will leave the baskets at the door, but are to return to do the service. I told her we were not upset at all, and I appreciated her call! She was a lovely woman. :)

Anyway, I was not annoyed or upset, just genuinely confused about the new system. Thanks to all who replied.

Is your real name Corrine? If so very easy for them to find you.

It has been my experience that the houosekeeper comes in and exchanges the dirty for the clean on T&T day, unless the guest instructs her to do otherwise.

We have owned at OKW since 1997 and they have always done the "basket by the door" method since we have owned. I actually think it's pretty efficient...everything they needis in the basket and they also know what units need what.

We were at BCV last week and did not get T&T. On morning 2 we did get a knock and asked if we would like housekeeping services. My DH said no that we were not staying for 8 nights. That may have been our ask about T&T? Either way we did not get new towels at any point but it worked out okay. No one had to go without a towel. :joker:

I just wanted to confirm that on a T&T day, housekeeping will normally empty the trash and replace our used towels. Does this also include the replenishing of our toiletries - soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc? This will be our first time visiting a DVC resort for a full week.

Thanks for your help! :thumbsup2

Yes, usually you get one shampoo, one shower gel, one conditioner for each bathing location (one for the shower, one for the tub in the master bathroom). One hand soap per sink. Toilet paper you can get as much as you need. Just call Housekeeping.

This reminds me of a time we stayed at AKV & I noticed we were running low on tp (upon entering the room for the first time, I noticed we only had one roll to begin with). I called Mousekeeping & asked for some to be brought over.

24 hours & 1 more phone call later...still no more tp. I stopped a Mousekeeper at her cart & asked for some.

TP is one of those things that, when you need it, you GOTTA HAVE IT. Just stop a Mousekeeper at her cart & ask for some. You don't want to be caught without any. :headache:

Thanks for the update! We've stayed at Aulani 2x, but only for a few days and didn't experience the T&T service. We're looking forward to our first stay at our Home Resort. This website and forum have been so valuable in helping us plan for this trip. Thanks to you all! :cool1:

We have always left our do not disturb sign out and they would leave a bag of towels and supplies on the door handle. The last 2 stays this hasn't happened? Any idea why? I thought maybe they had stopped because other guests were swipping them. Not sure.

On my last trip to Old Key West  they did not come for my trash and towel day which was not a huge problem but I was almost out of toilet paper  I had to call Mousekeeping in order to get someone to come ::rolleyes1 Well, they came, emptied on trash bucket, brought 1 roll of paper and left :headache:
