You can do this?? I thought it was set in stone to the every 4 days.
Hi,

Yes, you should be able to do this without any problem. You just call housekeeping and ask you if you could change the day of your T&T. They will ask you what day you want it scheduled for and you provide that information to them. I think the only request they have though is that you give them at least 24 hours notice, so I called on the day I checked in.

I like the pick up the towels at a towel station idea too. We seldom stay in anything but a studio and in the larger units we wouldn't even need that as we would wash them daily. No big deal. We take the trash out ourselves too so that is nothing we need either. As far as anything else they could just leave extra soap and coffee on check-in day. I agree to cut down on costs.

I pretty much live in higher end hotels, but elect not to have housekeeping most days. I do my own trash.

When on vacation, its a similar story.

I do like the idea of changing the TandT on request from day 4 to a different day. Or a TandT station to change out towels as needed.

Hi,

If you are only going to be there for 5 nights, have you thought about changing your T&T to a different day during your stay? We were there for only 5 nights, so we requested to move our T&T to day 3 of our stay, that way it was right in the middle to get new towels.

Didn't know this could be done - great idea!

When not in a Studio,
For towels we launder them as needed, at least every other day.
and the trash is taken down the hall to the trash bin nightly. Its not a big deal for the kids to run down or myself.

I would prefer a station where I could go and trade towels at my convenience. I actually think that if we eliminated T&T we could afford to allocate funds to have a full time person at the towel "station," and allow folks to trade towels whenever or as frequently as needed.
I like this suggestion!

As for this poll, I voted to eliminate the service/reduce fees. Most timeshares we own/visit offer no housekeeping during a normal 7-night stay. Yes, some offer linen-swap (bedding and towels) if desired.

If I was in a studio I would want at least the Towel part of T&T to stay the same or even increased

When we stay in a 1BR+, we just toss the towels in the laundry, wash em and dry em and voila fresh towels

Cheers

If you have the do not disturb on your door, I like the idea of them leaving the basket w/ fresh towels at your door, and you can just take them and place your old towels in the basket for them to pick up.

I voted to keep the T & T day, but I will keep in mind that it's possible to call Mousekeeping and switch the day! I think if you don't want them to come into your room during your stay, I'm sure a phone call telling them is better than the Do Not Disturb sign because they don't realize you don't want them coming at all, rather than at a later time. Does that make sense? Just call them and tell them to eliminate your T & T day. Maybe you can call them and ask them to bring you new towels at a time that is convenient for you and them so that you can sign off on their cleaning list, and even hand them the dirty towels in exchange for the clean ones.

I want to keep T&T but allow me to schedule the day, makes no sense on a 4 day trip to get T&T the day before you leave. Yea, you can call Mousekeeping and ask for it to be rescheduled, at least that's what's supposed to happen, but on the last two trips while they said they'd change the date they didn't.

A towel station sould be considered - just as some don't like coming into their 'home' to change trash and towels - I don't want to launder towels on vacation.

We always get a one bedroom, always do our own towels, and always bring a small supply of those laundry tablets. Since we eat out every meal, all we have in the way of trash is the coffee filter/grinds. So in OUR case, the service really isn't necesary.

With hundreds of individual washers & dryers running each day for the primary purpose of laundering 3 or 4 towels, I don't know if dues would go down by eliminating t&t, or if the expense would simply shift to a component of the utilities cost. But regardless of where the money gets spent, at a minimum I'd prefer to keep the towel schedule as is. Ideally, the towel trade-in station idea sounds like a reasonable alternative for everyone. Trash service is less important to me personally because it's easy enough to drop the bag into the trash closet on the way out every morning.

If they would give you the option of making the trade out yourself by setting the basket outside the door so we could bring it in and put the new towels in place and then set it outside with the used ones I would like that.

When we were at SSR in November, they placed the basket outside our door while we were gone. I didn't want or need T&T service since we had the Washer/Dryer in the villa, so I placed the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. I didn't know that they did this - but I really like it this way. It was much more convenient for us since we don't like anyone in our room anyway.

Yes !! its important to me

you guys who don't like TnT are all nuts;) ;) ;)

I do not have any urge to do laundry on vacation.

and I must be the only one who pays to have TnT every day of our vacation.
YES I want to have FRESH towels every day. The mousekeepers are always nice and leave us towel animals too:cool2:

I want fresh towels everyday too! I'll be paying for towels on our next trip since we'll be in a studio and I'm not wasting my time at the laundry.:laundy:

Normally we are in a 2 bedroom so I have the washer/dryer to keep the towels washed everyday and it's nice to have a break on T & T day.

We empty our own trash daily anyway. I would prefer a station where I could go and trade towels at my convenience. We take out the trash also. It's Florida! I don't want to attract any crawly visitors. I love the idea of a station to go get your own supplies. Seems to me it would be a wash as we use the resort water and electricity when we launder them ourselves anyway. We usually move towel day to day 3, works better for us.

To the person who mentioned reusing facecloths - I pack a few extra of the generic white ones you get at Bed Bath and Beyond. If they get lost, no biggie, but I'm NOT reusing a wet facecloth, just my peculiarity.
