Visiting daughter who lives in Orlando and thought we would take a three or four day disney cruise. Can you tell me how you get to the ship? Is it free if you are staying at a Disney Hotel? Can you make your own hotel arrangements? Where do you go on a three or four day cruise? Thanks, Marla

Hi Marla....let's see if we can get you some info...

First....the 3 & 4 day cruises sail on the Disney Wonder. They go to Nassau in the Bahamas and to Castaway Cay (Disney's private island). some of the 4 day cruises also include a stop in Freeport in the Bahamas.

You can book a week long package with 3 or 4 days at a WDW hotel and 3 or 4 days on the ship. Or, many people find it less expensive to book the two separately....book your hotel under one reservation and your cruise under a seperate reservation. Check out this site for discount codes to use when you call WDW for room rates.

There are many modes of transportation to the port from the WDW area...you can take a DCL bus (transfer) which is included if you purchase your airfare thru DCL or you can buy the transfers separately.

You can also rent a car one way from WDW or MCO to the Port. Check out this link for great rental car information. (Also check the mousesavers site for rental car codes that may help you get a discounted rate on a rental. On the return you would rent a car in the port area and drop off back at MCO.

Also, check out the whole site...it is a wealth of information.

You could also hire a car service. There are many options available in the area for car service/limo service.

I really appreciate the web sites that you offered. Daughter is a college student so I don't think she qualifies as a Fla. resident. Now we need to see when she can get off. Seven days may be hard for her so we will try for a 3 or 4 day. Never been on less than a 7 day and never been with a Disney Cruise. Any comments on 4 or 3 day cruises, anyone? Must be hard to be on one for such a short time. Usually I like different ports, but doing this one for the ship......hopefully it is worthwhile. LMK Marla
