My family and I are going to Aulani in Mid-May. My wife and I traveled to Aulani in 2016 (pre-kids) and took the SpeediShuttle at the time between HNL and Aulani.

For this upcoming trip I have 3 & 5 year old sons with us and I wanted to hear from others' experiences on what is the best, or most convenient way to get from HNL to Aulani. We would assume that a car seat is required or suggested, so is there a service anyone can provide that can provide carseats?

Are you planning to stay at Aulani for most of your stay and not do any other sight seeing? I'm also travelling with two small kids and I have been to Oahu before, so I'm considering whether a rental makes sense if the goal is staying mostly at Ko Olina for 5-6 days.

I noticed when my husband and I picked up our rental car in March that every rental car company had lines of carseats in front of their Kiosk in the parking garage for parents to pick up and put in their rental. I have grandchildren that want to come the next trip and thought that was great. Hope that helps and you have a great trip.

We will be staying on site at Aulani for the most part 5-6 days. We have a rental car reserved for 1 of the days to tour Oahu, but that is it. I don't want to spend the money renting a car the entire length of our stay, nor renting a car just to drive back and forth between the airport and Aulani

We took the Hele Hele shuttle. There’s a benefit if you’re a DVC member with a free return trip. They had car seats available on the vans in case we needed them for our kids, but we brought our own. They didn’t seem to charge for the usage.

Excellent that's perfect. I was looking at Hele Hele since they appear to be sponsored by Aulani via the website. I will give a call to confirm, I greatly appreciate it.

I would imagine this benefit doesn't work if you are renting DVC points or does it? I was positively surprised that parking would not be a cost when renting points, so that may tip it towards renting for a 6 days trip if the shuttle needs to be paid both ways.

I am not sure. During the booking process I had to input my DVC member ID number. If you have that from the rental, you may want to check with the shuttle company if you can use it as well. The other option we were considering was Charlie’s taxi.
