We are new DVC members and will have two grandchildren when we go next September. One will be 2 years 9 months and the other one will be 7 months.

If we fly can we do Magical Express as DVC members staying on pojnts.

Also, how is flying with kids?? Do you have to hold them on your lap??? What about car seats with Magical Express or other forms of transportation from the airport????

We are so new to little kids again!!!

You can use magical express, just call member services or use the form on the member website. All you need is flight times, and airline. I don't have kids so I will not comment on car seats but my understanding is they are not needed on the bus. As for flying with the kids I will foment as I work in the airline industry. The two year old will need a ticket. As of now the 9 month old will not and can sit on your lap for free. Be aware that the NTSB has asked the FAA to review the lap seating and is pushing to require tickets for even 9 month olds. That agrument is for a different thread.

We have flown several times with my 2 boys who are now 2 & 4. Prior to age 2, an airline ticket is not required. We have been fortunate each time we've flown except once to use an extra seat on the plane for our under-2 kid. We have never purchased a ticket for the under-2, though. We take the car seats to the gate and ask the gate attendant if it's a full flight or if there's an extra seat we might be able to use. If there's an extra seat, we carry the car seat on and strap it in. The one time an extra seat was not available we just gate-checked the car seat.

Try to schedule your flight for a nap time. We've done well booking flights where we can feed our kids lunch (or a snack) and get them to nap right after. Makes it easier on everyone!

You can use ME and no car seat is needed on the bus. They don't have seat belts on the bus, so it wouldn't do any good to have the seat.

Unless things have changed only certain car seats are allowed to be used in airline seats. Those eligible will be marked as such by the manufacturer.
