We have six kids (ages 3 to 13) and are taking them all as well as my parents to Southern California on a post tax season (I'm a CPA) vacation. A total of 10 people. I am having a difficult time finding a full size van to rent. We arrive on Saturday 4/23 and plan on sight seeing on Sunday (4/24), doing Disneyland on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Seaworld on Thursday and Universal Studios on Friday. Returning home on Saturday. We are flying through John Wayne Airport and are staying at a hotel near Disneyland. Can anyone give me any suggestions on economical transportation options?

Wow - It sounds like you have a wonderful three-generation trip planned to Southern CA!

I found the website linked below for United Auto Rental, which rents fullsize vans out of John Wayne Airport.

It looks like a weekly rental for your stay will run $409.99.

I don't know if that's in your budget, but I know that both Sea World and Universal Studios are a hike,
plus hotel transfers for your group would probably run you around $200 ...
So, my thought is that for a large group with so many children, the added flexibility of having a rental
for eating offsite, airport transfers, transportation to Hollywood and San Diego,
and visiting Downtown Disney after park hours (many hotel shuttles stop after the parks close),
as well as any side trips you might add on later (like shopping at the Disney Outlet - Great savings there!)
would outweigh the added cost (if any) of a rental.

$400'ish is a really good price for a week. I had to rent a 15 passenger van last October when a couple of parents backed out of taking a group of kids (including my two) to Magic Mountain, and I ended up taking all of them. It cost me more than $200 for one night.
