we will be driving to orlando and staying at the dolphin what is the best way to get to MK? Our own car or use disney transportation?

I always have a rental car at WDW and often stay at the Swan (same as Dolphin). I always use the Disney bus service, great and drops you right at the gate. Driving there would be too much a hassle for me. Only time I drove was for an early AM MK our of the trains, and needed to be there before buses were running.

We have stayed at the Dolphin before and might be there again in about 40 days. I would reconmend you take Disney Transportation to the MK from the S/D as it is much more convienent then driving.

We always rent a car when we are at Disney. We do not use disney transportation to MK. It is not that far of a drive. If you are not in a rush walk into Epcot and take the monrail to MK.

If you drive to MK from the Dolphin you will have to park at the TTC and take the monorail or ferry to MK. If you take the Disney bus it drops you off at the front entrance to MK.

At the end of a long hot day, it's so nice to let someone else do the driving. That MK parking lot is a mad house at closing time.

One of the biggest advantages to staying at WDW resort is the transportation system. We always drive to WDW - pull up to our resort and give the keys to the valet. We retrieve the keys on the day we are forced to go home. We usually are at an Epcot Resort (YC / BC / BWI) so we walk to Epcot & MGM (or take the boat) and use the buses to AKL, MK, & DTD/West Side (and water parks if we are visiting one). Usually if we are going to another resort for dinner we will take a cab (not that expensive & I still feel like I am on vacation).
