Hi I need some help and guidance! We are flying down to Disney for a Cruise in June. Our plan is to stay the night before at one of the resorts - no issue with transportation from the airport to the resort however the next day we go to the cruise. A few years ago we did a towncar and it was reasonable. NOw when I looked into it its almost 300 dollars!! So at this point the Disney transportation is cheaper but we dont have the luxury of a grocery stop. Any one has cheaper ways to get around. I thought of a renting a car but then its silly to pay for parking for 5 days.

Do you know if youl could rent a car by the port to go back to the resort? This may be worth while because then we go visit other places during our non disney days when we return from the cruise?

Also part II - Can we rent cars at the Disney resorts if we decide to go to Universal or the beach one day? Not sure about taxi fares either.

If anyone can shed some light I would appreciate it! Thanks!!:confused3

There are various car rental companies that you can rent from that are close to port. I have rented a car in the past and found it to be cheaper to just leave it parked at the ship rather than return it and then have to get a new car after the cruise.
if you do choose to rent a car and return it at port and then rerent a car after the cruise....a lot of the rental companies have shuttles that get you back and forth, between their offices and the ship. Budget is one. But, run the figures and see which way is cheaper.

We have always rented from Budget. So far we have never ran into trouble. I suggest either renting from the airport or from Double Tree @ DTD who also has budget onsite. ;) Always ran much cheaper for us, plus the freedom of your own car. No need to park your car, return the car to budget and they will bus you over for free.
