Transportation to Universal from Disneyland

I'm not sure where to post this. We've been to Disney World many times and are now planning a first trip to Disneyland!!! We will have 9-11 people going. We are wanting to go Universal for a day and to do some shopping at the Disney Studio Store and perhaps in Hollywood. We are also considering stopping by the beach one day. We are trying to avoid renting a vehicle. What is the best way for us to get to these places? Any suggestions? does anyone know approximate cost of this as well?

Forget public transportation. I suggest you look at a map to see what the real distances are. Renting a 2 cars or very large van will probably be your cheapest option. Look into Uber?

It will probably take 2x the amount of time you would expect to drive anywhere in Los Angeles. You may decide to stay put.
