Transportation to the port

I need to figure out transportation to/from the port. I was planning on doing the Disney transportation for the ease if use, just show up and get on the bus.

However there are 11 in the group and I know private transportation would be more cost effective. However that adds a lot of stress on my part as in I now I have to figure when to be picked up (we are flying in the night before and staying at the airport) and when to be picked up from the boat. I don't want to stress about missing the pickup if we are late getting off the boat. How do you know what time to tell them to pick you up and have they ever left anyone if you are running late or delayed?

I'm trying to decide if the peace of mind is worth the added expense. I really am only responsible for my immediate family (4) the remaining 7 will most likely follow my lead, but are ultimately free to do whatever they want.

Since you are only financially responsible for your immediately party of 4, and unless you are certain the others will split another option with you, you might be best to stick with DCL transfers. You can check around to get some quotes, but generally cost of DCL transfers "breaks even" with private limo service for a party of 3-4. That said, alternative options would likely need to include a larger vehicle to accommodate your full traveling party, and that will increase the cost overall but could be most cost-effective individually -- depends on how you agree to split the cost (total # of passengers, # of adults, etc.).

I don't think you need to worry too much about being left behind -- most (all?) of the limo services will give you a cell number to call once you are off the ship and they wait somewhere nearby for that call. They are familiar with the debarkation times.

Enjoy your cruise!

We use a private company (Happy Limo) leaving from the airport about 1 hour and 15 minutes before our PAT. (They also make one free stop en route if your group would want wine etc).

Because of the ease of on board airline check in, we pay the higher cost to use DCL transfers on the way back (and the nice thing is that you don't have to worry about getting everyone else off the ship).

I would do that too, if we were flying on a participating airline. Really bummed that Southwest has opted not to participate.

Typically you will need to be out of your hotel room by 11am so pick up at 11:15.

You will need to be off the ship by 9:00 am so pick up at 9:15.

Easy:)
