Transportation to the Airport???

Here is my newest dilema. I am leaving out of TF Green in Providence in January. I was going to pick the kids up from school (half day) and go directly to airport and park for the week. My minivan was in an accident this week and I have a rental. I would rather not leave it at the airport and we won't fit in my husbands camry with luggage. Does anyone know of any options. We come home on a Sunday so I am sure we can find someone to pick us up but leave on a Friday at 1:50pm.

Figure out the costs of these alternatives to see if they work:

1. Have your accident substitute transportation rental terminate one day before you go to the airport (thus avoiding paying rent while it sits in your garage the week you are gone). Have hubby take you to the airport where you rent another car for your last day before Disney. When bringing the kids and luggage to the airport you are simultaneously returning that rental car. WHen you get back home, rent still another car for substitute trans. if needed.

2. Make two trips in hubby's Camry on departure day.

We've done a couple of creative things that might be a possibility for you...

1) We gave an extra key to hubby's coworker and drove our car to the airport. Another friend dropped the coworker off at the airport that afternoon and he drove our car home for us. In-laws picked us up after the trip.

2) We took a limo service one year when we were staying more than a few days. The cost was about $5 less than our parking fees would have been.

3) We have relatives who usually book a night at a hotel with airport shuttle service and use that.

I don't know if you're close enough for a taxi to be economical but you might want to check your phone book to see if any companies offer special rates for airport pickups or to see if there are independant shuttle services available.

when in jan. ? we plan to go mid jan. but we're flying out of logan. good-luck

Where do you live in RI? My sister lives in Warwick. She could probably get you there cheaper than a taxi. What time & day are you leaving?
