Does anyone have any recommendation for best mode of transportation from Orlando Int'l Airport to RPR? Keep in mind we'll be arriving late (11 pm) with 3 small kids. Thanks so much!

I would bite the bullet and get a car service. We are booked with Magic City Transportation and are paying $75 r/t MCO to PBH and back. I figure with tips we will pay about $100. A grocery stop is included. We are getting a town car. You may need a van with car seats and such. That rate includes a $5 discount I was given for mentioning DIS. You can reach them at (407) 947-5136. We have not had personal experience with them, but fellow DISers and the Transportation board had good things to say about them.

we have used Tiffany's towncar service for the past 7 years. They are always there waiting for us,help with the luggage. Ask for SID. He's the best..

We used Happy Limo last July and are using them again next month. They meet you at airport right at the bottom of escalator w/your name on sign. The driver was waiting for us last year even though our plane was 1 1/2 hrs. late getting in. We were picked up at exact time requested for our return trip to airport. I just found out how much out of their way they will go to accomodate you....I made a special request as a surprise for the rest of the family. No problem at all. I have also requested the free 15 min. grocery stop on the way from airport. Again, no problem. I tried to post the HappyLimo.com site link here but didn't know how to do it. The sedan (4-adults) runs $55 one way/$100 roundtrip to Univ. hotels. Keep in mind that there will be a few $$ added on for tolls too. To me, it was well worth the $$ just not to have to worry about catching a shuttle and going everywhere on the way to RPR. You'd appreciate that also w/3 small children late at night. Have fun!

We used a cab this past weekend (both were minivans, so would have been OK with 3 kids). With tips/tolls, $40 each way to HRH.

I normally book a car service to disney (cheaper than a cab), but I will probably do cab service from now on to/from Universal, as they are more expensive to/from Universal and I have had problems with several car services (FL and Tiffany have both shown up at least 20 minutes late in the recent past to take me to the airport for departing flights).

Have a great time!

You guys have given me some great leads but now I have a new twist. We decided to go to visit my grandparents in Boca Raton after our 4 days at Universal. We now plan to drive down there and then fly out of Palm Beach Airport. So I looked into renting car for the day we checkout of RPR (and then the addtl 4 days we'll be in Boca) and its really pricey to use the onsite Hertz (something crazy like $59/day for a midsize). The cheapest way I've found to do it is to rent the car at Orlando Airport when we check in and just keep it for the week. Even with returning it in Palm Beach, I found a rate of $269 for the week for a minivan. It seems like a waste b/c we really don't need a car while we're at RPR and don't want to pay for self-park for no reason. Anyone done this or can think of a way to do this any more cheaply? Maybe I'm just making this too complicated and should stick with the weekly car rental. It just seemed so much easier to be picked up by a driver (given we're getting in so late) and not have the hassle of getting a rental car.

We always rent a car for the week we stay there. We just like knowing that we have transportation if we want to go to McDonalds or the grocery store, or even Disney. It is a bit more pricey, but we like the freedom it gives us to go when we want and where we want.

Check Mousesavers.com - they have some great codes for the different rental companies.

Also, try L&M car rental. We used them two years ago and they were the best deal we could find. You could probably find some feedback on them on the transporation board. They are located in the airport, right next to baggage claim. To get your car, you just walk out the door right and up into the parking garage and the cars are right there. They were really convenient.
