Hi I have a question. My son has reservations at the Grand Floridian for an 8:00pm dinner & is staying at the Pop Century. If the Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00pm do you think there is a chance he could still get a bus from Pop to the Magic Kingdom at 6:30pm? (I was hoping maybe he could catch it when it is returning to pick up more people leaving the park).

Anyone have any luck getting a bus back to a park after closing?

His best bet will be a cab, Uber, or Lyft, or he could take the bus over to Disney Springs and catch the Grand Floridian bus from there. Getting back to Pop will be more of a challenge.

It's possible that he could get on a bus at 6:30, but you can't count on it.

Last year I was at AKL trying to get back to Contemporary just after 10pm (MK was closing at 10pm). MK bus pulled up, let people off, and then when we tried to board, the driver said he isn't supposed to take people to the park after closing time. I told him we were trying get back to the Contemporary and were planning on walking from MK. He went ahead and let us on, and then a few minutes later, he said he'll take us straight to the Contemporary before he goes to MK. Very nice of him since he didn't have to let us on in the first place, and didn't have to make an extra stop at the Contemporary when he was trying to get back to MK to pick up more guests.

A different driver might not have been willing to let us on at all, so it's just luck of the draw.

You're right about it being the luck of the draw. One year while staying at Contemporary we went to Epcot on New Year's Eve and walked to Beach Club just after midnight to catch a bus to MK (which had EMH until 2). We ran into a massive traffic jam and didn't get back to the vicinity of MK until 1:50am. Someone took a poll of guests on the bus and every single one of us was staying at Contemporary and hadn't actually planned on going into MK, just wanted to avoid the monster line at the monorail. We asked if the driver could just pull into CR bus loop and drop us off, and she insisted that she couldn't do that but had to take us to MK.
