Looking for a shuttle or car service for 6 people and luggage from airport to hotel downtown. Anyone know of a company you'd recommend?

Thanks for your help.

Aerocar. You can get a stretch limo that seats 6 for less than half the cost of Disney transfers.

We used Aerocar as well. You can find them online. They had towncars and SUV's available first come/first serve at the airport. We had no problem getting one and I thought the rate was reasonable. I think during high tourist season you can't book airport pick up but can reserve a car from the port to the airport. For larger parties it may differ.

Enjoy your trip! Alaska is fantastic to see!

We did not get into Vancouver until after midnight. We picked up our luggage and headed outside. There was a Taxi line just outside the door with a representative working the line even at that late hour. Having read on the boards that Vancouver taxis only hold up to 4people, we had already planned on taking two cabs. But when we walked up and told the guy six with one in a wheelchair, he motioned for a van that took all six of us, the folding wheelchair, 9 suitcases, and six backpacks. It was a tight fit but we all went in one vehicle to the Comfort Inn Downtown. Cost was $35. And since I was planning on paying double that I tipped the guy $20. However when we tried to get the same taxi from the Comfort Inn to the port, it was a no go. Turns out the 6person van is based out of Richmond which is where the airport is. But the Vancouver Taxis are no more than 4folks like we read here. But it was a much shorter ride and cost was only about $10 each.

There are Vancouver taxi's with 6 passengers. They can be requested, but are extremely popular when cruise ship boarding occurs.

Yes with Aerocar costing about the same as two taxi's..... I will often get two taxi's. Otherwise, surrender my spot in the queue for the larger van's that will show up minutes later at the airport.

We will be staying at the fairmont and will need transportation to the airport at 3:30 am since our internationa flight leaves at 6:00. I know skytrain will be closed at that time. What is my cheapest option? It will be 5 of us so we will need 2 taxis and it will e expensive. Can you call for taxi van?

Thoughts....
  • When Skytrain is not operating, there is a night bus to run in its place
  • I recommend calling the cab dispatch 30 minutes before your departure to see if a 6 passenger cab is available. Otherwise dual cabs with all your luggage is preferred.
  • if this is a US flight.... I remember reading in some forums that some recommended a later arrival closer to your departure is recommended as the check-in counters may not be open. Can anyone confirm this?
