Transportation TO Hoop Dee Doo

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my travelling party (consisting of 4 families....14 total) from AKL to Fort Wilderness for a 7:15 Hoop Dee Doo PS. We will be without a rental car.

Is it possible to get two or three cabs to get us from AKL to Fort Wilderness? What would the cost be?

We have six kids in the party (incl. a 1-year-old), and I would like to minimize the wait time....it seems that taking a bus to MK or DTD to catch a boat or another bus to Fort Wilderness is time consuming.

Any thoughts?

The cab would drop you off at the front of Ft Wilderness and then you have to catch an internal Campground bus to take you to the HDD.

I would strongly recommend taking your resort bus to MK and then the boat to the Campground. That boat will drop you off about 200 yards straight up the path from Pioneer Hall. I think overall time and ease makes the MK boat to FW is the way to go. You'll especially want to do the reverse at the end of the show as everyone leaving the HDD will be trying to get on the buses and it's a mad house (as long as MK is still open so the buses from there are still running)!


The boat ride is neat as you get interesting views of MK, Poly and GF from the water and close up looks at the Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, The old Discovery Island and a view of the old River Country.

You will want to take the bus to the MK, and then the boat to Fort Wilderness. After your show, there will be direct bus transportation back to your resort. Just check with a bus driver at the Campground for more info on which bus to board.

I don't recommend a taxi, because you won't be saving any time. You'll still need to ride an internal bus -- taxi's are not permitted to get remotly close to the Hoop.
