If i read it correctly, the bus ride to the Dunn Falls excursion is about an hour or so. Is there a bathroom on the bus like on the DLC buses? It never fails that one of the kids will need to go whenever we go somewhere! Thanks!

I assume you mean going from FALMOUTH to DRF?

IME the bus in JA AIN'T what you see in Florida . . . .

We did the excursion to Mystic Mountain, but I believe the same type of vans/buses do the Dunns excursion. If so, no there are no bathrooms on them.

Yes, from the ship to the Dunn Falls excursion location. The DCL port adventure description says an hour bus ride from port to the falls?

Just got home last night from our cruise and we did this excursion. No bathroom on bus. Also make sure that you bring water shoes or you will have to buy some from them. At the water falls you will have to leave your bags on the bus. Wear your swimsuit you will be soaked when you get back on the bus.

What is so special about this water fall that makes it so popular. I've seen lots of water falls so I'm just curious.

You walk up the falls, in them. Everyone in your party holds hands and helps each other up it.

Other then walking up the water Fall is theirsnything remarkable about it. It's an rxpensive trip to see a water Fall that's why I'm asking.

We did the Bobsled and Dunns Falls . The bobsled ride was really fun. It is expensive. If you like to climb you can have a lot of fun in the falls. I was more concerned about falling and breaking my ankle again. My husband did fall and skinned and bruised his knee. There are different ways up but you have to go where they tell you to.

The last time we were there, in November, the bus stopped at a couple of shops where you could buy water shoes. I don't know for sure if they had a bathroom, but I would be surprised if they didn't. The stop was after 40 minutes or so.

The walking up the water fall is what makes it remarkable. It's not the views that make it fun (although some views are decent); we just had a great time climbing up, sliding into the water, and scrambling around. It was a good way to do something active and different.

You can find some good videos of the falls on YouTube, which I would recommend to anyone on the fence about an excursion.

It is a Very neat Waterfall - and quite the trip up. Lot of places to splash & make memories. We did it 2 years ago - but will not be doing it again. It was fun, but once was enough to cross it off the Bucket List!

It is about an hour to & from the Port to DF though - our bus did Stop about 1/2 way on the way back for a Bathroom break!

We did DRF and Blue Hole in Jamaica through Courtney Taylor Tours, so had a private driver. That was great, and I highly recommend it, especially if you have kids. It wasn't much more expensive than the DCL tour and we got to decide when and where we went and stop where we wanted.

We did enjoy DRF a lot, but my daughter was 10, so able to do a lot on her own. If she was much younger, it would've been tough on me, though our guide helped a lot. Take something waterproof you wear around your neck with your camera/phone and some money to tip your guide. You can't hold anything in your hands, but you can wear a lanyard type neck thing. Blue hole was a lot of fun, too. You got to swing off into the water and jump off the sides.

If walking up a waterfall doesn't seem remarkable to you, then I doubt you would like it. Personally, I haven't been to any other waterfalls that I could walk up in. It's like climbing a mountain and playing in a water feature at the same time. Two of my favorite things combined. Plus their were pools to stop and play in at various points, and it was just a little bit harrowing, so as to be exciting as well for most people, without really being dangerous. Also, there were wooden stairs next to it for people that didn't want to walk in the falls to still enjoy the pools or just take pictures and watch family members. We enjoyed it.

We did a private excursion with Marvyn's Paradise Tour to Dunn River Falls in November. We really loved the falls! The journey time was indeed about one hour. Being just the two of us, we went up the falls without a guide and after the first few steps up, we quickly learned how to do it. It was a lot of fun and going up without a guide let us do it at our own speed. We took quite a lot of breaks, just floating around in the pools, enjoying the view. Our driver (Witfield) was really great and the van was modern, clean and comfortable. I would absolutely book with them again. I think for the two of us, the whole excursion was only slightly more expensive than what it would have cost with DCL. We paid 160 US$ for transportation and then entrance to Dunns River Falls was 20 US$ per person. DCL charges 80$ for the Dunns River Falls express per adult. It was a really great experience and I would always go with a private tour again in Jamaica!
